Home and Lifestyle Show

You’re friendly Great Lakes Insurance team

This weekend was our local Home and Lifestyle Show. One of the perks of my job is to be an active part in the community. As a Communications Director (I gave myself that title) my main goal is to bring awareness to my company and make sure people understand what their healthcare options are.

Our booth gave away flower seeds. We were “planting the seeds for Medicare”

Great Lakes Insurance/Kinzie Financial is a locally owned Insurance Agency. We offer Medicare, life, individual and group health insurance. Making sure you are properly protected, while building meaningful relationships is our mission.

I set our booth up Friday night with the help of my husband. He is such a trooper. He is not antisocial by any means but he certainly isn’t as social as I am. That is my element, my time to shine. Now stick me in a room full of strangers and that’s a whole different ballgame. Anxiety is a bitch.

I’ll stick to this little fella

Saturday morning I knew I didn’t have much to do because I had set up completely the night before. I did get there early enough to see the baby chicks and the pony. The pony was the perfect size for me. I have an irrational fear of horses. They are not my jam. I’ve never had a bad experience because I’ve never had the desire to get on one.

The baby chicks were so cute!

The show was 4 hours long and I got to meet many new people. I also got to see many people I haven’t seen in awhile. My boss was there with me so we were able to move about and socialize with other local businesses.

Community involvement requires commitment but the return is priceless. Except for the random dude that told me I looked like Cruella…
