Kid Free Sex and Sushi

For the last couple of weekends I have been trying to clean one room of the house. Now obviously I’m still cleaning the whole house, but one room gets the top to bottom treatment. It started 3 weeks ago in my bedroom. I even made my way through the closet. Last weekend, it was the spare room. It’s unbelievable how much can accumulate in a room, that can be easily forgotten. This weekend, well this weekend I took some time off.

My mom took the kids last night. They aren’t toddlers anymore, they don’t need to be constantly entertained. They just need to be out of my house, at the same time occasionally. I know y’all know exactly what I’m talking about. Kid free sex is a necessity. Thank god I have a mom that understands that. As a matter of fact her text actually said “When do you want to get rid of the little sex interrupter’s?”

He ALWAYS makes me “warm up” the car while he loads it.

Our first stop was Costco. I got about 1/2 way though before I started to feel like everyone was in my way. Of course, I’m sure it was the other way around. It’s all about perspective.

We then hit a few more of my favorites. TjMaxx, Ulta, and Sierra Trading. The only store that got my money was Ulta of course. I am convinced you could leave me in there for 12 hours and I’d be fine.

We decided to stop at Mega Bev for some wine. I don’t drink but I absolutely judge wine by the labels. Unfortunately, my husband has a bit more sophisticated palate and actually has some minimum requirements. Only one of my cool labels made the cut. We will see how that one turns out.

It was getting late, but we weren’t ready to go home yet. Then I remembered Horrocks. That’s another store I could spend forever in. I was surprised to learn that Chuck was intrigued with the soup selection. My interest went right out the window when I saw the 2 snot nose kids opening every top to smell the soup. Nope, not pre Covid and definitely not now.

These little gems are overpriced as hell. I did look up a few recipes and decided against trying them myself. They will be reserved for special occasions.

I settled on some chocolate covered cashews, Macarons, and a piece of chocolate cake. Obviously we should have eaten dinner before this stop. Rookie mistake. We decided on Sushi. I ordered online and we picked it up on the way home. The thing with sushi is I’m always afraid it won’t be enough. I always over order. According to the chop sticks they include, they thought 4 would be dining on our order.

Jaku never disappoints.

We came home and unloaded what had to be, out of the car. Water softener salt, laundry detergent, dog food and anything else that wouldn’t spoil got left for the morning.

There is nothing better than pulling out the paper plates, eating expensive sushi and cuddling on the couch for hours. We are currently binge watching a show that we’ve seen before, but it’s so damn cute. I’d rather sit next to my husband, hair up, face washed, comfy clothes, rather than get gussied up and pull out the spanx and heels any day.
