Perfect Fall Weekend

It’s no secret that fall is my favorite season. I love everything about it. Even when it’s dark and dreary I still wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’ve made it a priority to enjoy every second of this fall.

Saturday we went to our local corn maze. Of course back in the day this trip would have included all of the kids but now it’s just Addie. Morgan is an adult and out of the house. Brogan didn’t want to go because spending time with us is torture. Thank goodness Addie still loves us.

She’s been asking to do the corn maze for a couple of weeks. There was no way I was doing it without Chuck. Let me just say, don’t start with the hard one. The first 15 – 20 minutes were fun. Then I started to get some anxiety. I didn’t show it but I kept thinking, what if I have to pee? I had a lot of coffee before we left and definitely was not planning on the 3.1 mile course.

After 30 minutes Addies attention span was fading. We broke rule #2. We cut through the corn. I felt a bit bad at first, but midway it was fight or flight. I went into that maze looking all cute with a sweater and tall boots. I came out a hot mess.

Chuck and Addison played king of the mountain on the straw bales. Their relationship is so special. She is his baby girl, and there is no denying it. She was the most colicky baby. He would walk her for hours. His patience with her has always been worthy of an award.

The rest of our Saturday included donuts, naps and Farkle.

Today we were going to be productive. Of course things don’t always go as planned. We did get to Costco and Meijer though so it wasn’t a total loss. We had Nana over for dinner. I made a new soup, and we made caramel apples for dessert.

I’m the midst of chaos, it’s important to remember what is really important.
