Cross country has officially started. We had our first meet last night. I have to say that if you’ve never experienced this, you really should. Obviously I am not a runner. My husband is not a runner. How one out of three kids became a runner, I will never know.

Over the years I’ve been to my fair share of baseball games, basketball games, and football games but they don’t hold a match to a Cross Country meet.
Thank GOD I had a friend the first year that gave me a heads up about not needing to bring my bag chair. Silly me thought you just sit and watch them run right on by. Nope, you run across the field and over the hills to try and catch a glimpse of them as they run by. The you scream at them to run faster! Please for the love of GOD don’t forget to yell out their time so they know where they are at.
I pick on it but I honestly do love to watch her run. Plus I’m learning to be a really good yeller as she runs by.
Chuck and I made a last minute decision to meet at an apple orchard after work. Neither of us were dressed for apple picking but that didn’t stop us. We were in and out of there in 30 minutes. I had plans of making some apple crisp but then I got home and realized I had no oatmeal. Looks like I’ll be stopping at the store tomorrow night.
