Utility Sinks and New Routines

I set reminders on my phone to blog every Friday and Sunday. Just like my morning alarm, they got snoozed.

Friday I decided to tackle my oven. I’m not sure I’ve ever cleaned it. Of course I rarely use it considering in the summer it makes the house ungodly hot and in the winter the crockpot is my go to. That was a huge pain in the ass but it does look better. Why would I wipe all the grime off the white doors in my house when I can clean the inside of something that no one will ever see? There’s always next week.

A little elbow grease never hurt nobody

Friday night there was an away football game. I laid down for an hour nap and woke up 3 hours later. Damn I hate when that happens. Needless to say we listened to it on the radio and got updates from friends. They walked away with a win and I got to stay home with no pants.

Saturday Chuck installed a new utility tub in our laundry room. Of course that meant cleaning the laundry room first. We found out after moving the washer and dryer to sweep, that someone at sometime spilled liquid laundry detergent. Not a cup but enough that it had to be physically scraped up. Mopping a floor full of old spilled laundry detergent that now had a solid layer of lint on top is a solid 0 out of 10, I do not recommend it. The sink is in and I love it. I’m not sure I will enjoy doing laundry any more than usual but it definitely doesn’t hurt.

Adulting is getting excited over a utility tub

Morgan got tickets to a MSU game so she took her brother. They had a great time. I’m so glad she likes him now. I was nervous for the first 15 years or so of his life but I think it’s all working out. Those free tickets only cost me gas money, food money and parking money but the memories were priceless I’m sure.

Go Green

Sunday is usually shopping day. We hit 3 or 4 stores, spend way too much money and waste at least 3 hours. The kids usually text their requests and we do our best to accommodate them. Well yesterday I just wasn’t feeling it. Our list was minimal, less than 8 items. Definitely not worth fighting the Sunday crowds. The kids however still had their requests. I did something I’ve never done before. I handed them over the list and my debit card and took a nap. It was glorious. This might be a new thing.

Last night was family dinner at Nana’s. We really need to make it a monthly thing. But then again I really need to walk every day and that doesn’t usually happen either. Always the best of intentions light on motivation.
